Other Initiatives
$250 was donated to Middlesex United Way for mask making efforts. West Enders have also donated fabric (leave on the porch at 55 Girard Avenue) if you have any and it will be put to good use.
GN construction has generously built 2 Food Pantries for the community. They have been installed at 45 Evergreen and 70 North Beacon St.
Please feel free to drop off non-perishable food items, toiletries, toilet paper, etc. If the pantry is full, there might be an overstock bin nearby or you can email WECA at secretary@wecahartford.org Also, please let us know if the pantry is empty.
If anyone else is interested in a pantry, please contact GN Construction. Price is negotiable but please remember out of pocket costs are around $350.
Each week, spend $25 at a selected local restaurant and have the option of receiving a $10 gift card for use at their store, courtesy of WECA.
Don’t need it? Leave it for someone else who might. Or you can feel free to donate your own gift card, in any denomination, for the establishment to distribute as they see fit.
How about a West End Night In?
We have so many talented friends and neighbors in the West End, so we thought it might be nice for the next few weeks (or months) that we’re at home to get to know each other a little better.
We will be running live or prerecorded online events hosted by local West Enders’ that are free for anyone to join. These will be recorded and available to view at any time.

Tree Stump Table Top
Local craftsman Will McNair has generously donated his time and materials to build a table top for one of the stumps in Elizabeth Park – something to look forward to in better times.
