However\, forests\, wetlands\, and floodplains along urban-suburban waterways\, such as the North Branch Park River\, (or “hog” river) provide multiple environmental benefits that are valuable to public health and community resiliency. \nThis image and data-rich presentation will include planning determinants along the riparian corridor\, such as past red-lined districts\, and allowances for commuter parking lots within floodplains. The presenter\, Mary Pelletier will also share the New England Landscape Futures ‘Explorer’ tool\, which encourages communities to envision and initiate natural resource conservation of ecosystem service benefits.
